Paranormal Activity has been making the rounds in small film/fright festivals. Oren Peli’s debut as writer/director was purchased by Paramount and is making a limited release in cities around the States at present. So for so good. (and don’t play Numberwang) I’ve always admired the Saw franchise for sticking to its guns and doing what it does best: killing people in a variety of gruesome ways using ingenious devices. But one aspect that sticks in my mind is that every Saw movie has used the correct “rules” regarding the naming of the sequels. Saw II was actually Saw 2, then came SAW 3, 4 and 5 etc. None of this “The Final Destination” bullshit for what was, clearly, the fourth in the franchise!
